Facilities
Willow Grove Stable first began in Millarville, Alberta. Operations expanded, and we moved to our present DeWinton location in 1985.
The barn features 26 large box stalls, with soft stalls and rubber mats throughout. We accommodate our outside boarders in spacious paddocks with shelters. Horses boarded inside can either enjoy daily turnout in large individual paddocks or field group turnout if they need a good play. With a 70’ x 190’ indoor arena that has a combination of sand and rubber footing, two outdoor sand rings and an outdoor grass ring, we are able to train for all competition scenarios.
The coaches and staff at Willow Grove ensure that all horses are treated as ‘elite athletes’ and part of the family. With our vast educational backgrounds and practical experience, we know it is important for each horse to have a personalized program tailored to his or her individual nutritional and exercise needs. Stabled horses receive their feed four times daily. Paddock horses have the choice of feed schedules of three or four times per day or round baled hay for those hard keepers.
Lessons and training take place weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is important to us that the individuals riding and training here are comfortable with our philosophy and safety standards for both horses and students. We look forward to discussing how we can best accommodate your needs.
